I designed, planned and organized this event, and compiled the supplies and materials for the “roller rink,” rented skates, and created a three hour playlist of disco music. MFA student Liyuan Tong, created the graphics for the poster and the headbands that were screenprinted by people using glow-in-the-dark-ink that night as they stopped in. The MCAD Gallery Staff was incredibly useful in helping install the many aspects of the “roller rink” in the MCAD Campus Center.Volunteers and MCAD students helped staff the check out of the skates, assisted with printing glow-in-the-dark headbands, and assisted with other printmaking exploration of using roller skates to print on paper.
Engage, embrace and summon your inner child! Bring yourself (and offspring!) to the Disco Roller Printing Party, a fun and zany event at MCAD.
